Dry Eye Services in Concord
We provide dry eye evaluations and treatment for patients experiencing irritation, fluctuating vision, or discomfort that affects daily activities. Our goal is to identify what is contributing to your symptoms and recommend practical, medically appropriate steps based on the findings of your exam.
Understanding Your Dry Eye Symptoms
Dry eye can appear in different ways. During your visit, we talk with you about when symptoms occur, what seems to worsen them, and how long you have been experiencing discomfort. We then examine the surface of your eyes and eyelids to understand whether dryness is related to tear quality, tear quantity, or eyelid gland function.
How We Evaluate Dry Eye
Your evaluation may include assessment of the tear film, eyelid margins, and meibomian gland function.
We look for signs of inflammation or gland blockage and check how quickly tears break up on the eye’s surface.
This helps us determine which components of the tear layer need support and which treatment steps may be most helpful.
Treatment Options for Relief
Dry eye care is most effective when it addresses the specific factors contributing to your symptoms.
We select treatments based on exam findings and your comfort level with at-home routines.
Artificial tears are often the first step in relieving irritation.
For patients whose tears drain too quickly, punctal plugs may help keep moisture on the surface of the eye longer. This in-office procedure is brief and typically well tolerated.
Eyelid Care & Advanced Support
When dryness stems from oil gland dysfunction, we may recommend lid hygiene and manual meibomian gland expression in the office.
For more significant surface irritation, amniotic membranes support healing.
Dry eye often changes over time, so follow-up visits help us see how you’re responding to treatment and refine your care plan to keep it effective.
When to Schedule a Dry Eye Visit
If your eyes frequently feel dry or irritated, if your vision becomes blurry during reading or screen use, or if discomfort is affecting your day, a dedicated dry eye evaluation may be helpful. We see patients by appointment at our office, which offers free parking and a fully wheelchair-accessible space.
